Music at St. Ann’s
St Ann’s has a wonderful music program with an outstanding choir of hard-working and talented singers who perform every Sunday at the 10:00 AM worship service, and on other occasions of the church year.
Special services such as Jazz Mass and Jazz Vespers are held in the summer, and Celtic services during Lent and Advent.
St. Ann’s Choir
Every October we have a special music mass celebrating a particular music theme as part of our worship. Early music, The Beatles, Broadway, the 70’s, and the 80’s have each been past themes, but our choir’s repertoire also includes early music, Bach, and contemporary sacred music. Come and join us and see what this year’s theme will be!
Our choir is often accompanied by guest instrumentalists and also perform a special concert before the Christmas Eve service.
Choir Master & Organist, Janet Fensteter
A dedicated church musician, Janet has been at St Ann’s for 39 years as the choirmaster and organist. The 12 member choir is a vital part of St Ann's worship in helping lead others to experience holy moments through music. Christmas, Easter, the popular Jazz Mass and other special services are enriched with the St Ann’s Choir and local musicians.
Assistant Choir Master, Adam Judd
Adam has been an active member of the music program at St Ann’s for 23 years. He has composed & arranged choral music for church services, assisted with conducting and is one of the leading voices in the choir. He was the choral director and dean of performing arts at the Ross School for 20 years.
Jazz Mass
For decades St Ann’s has had a special service in July that follows the Episcopal tradition but welcomes the joyous sounds of Jazz musicians and old timey gospel music. Join us this July and experience the sounds and joy!
Jazz Vespers
Jazz Vespers is a new offering at St Ann’s. For six Sundays in July and August, this 5:00 PM service comes alive with the sounds of a jazz group. Come and join in the excitement as we worship.
Services are held either inside, or outside under the tent.
Celtic Services
During Lent and Advent we welcome the addition of a Eucharistic service in the Celtic tradition. The meditative, candlelight service helps us experience these thoughtful seasons in new ways. We hope you will join us at 5:00 PM on Sundays in the church.
